🛠️ DTF Application FAQ & Troubleshooting
❓ My transfer isn’t sticking — what’s going on?
Double-check your temperature, pressure, and time. If your press isn’t hot enough or you’re using too little pressure, the adhesive won’t bond properly. Use a heat gun or temp strip to verify your press temp.
❓ The edges are lifting after pressing.
Give it a second press with a parchment or kraft cover sheet for 5 seconds. This helps seal the edges and lock in the adhesive.
❓ The film doesn’t peel cleanly.
Make sure you're using firm, even pressure. If parts lift with the film, let it cool slightly and try a cold peel — or add a bit more pressure on the next press.
❓ Can I use a home iron or Cricut EasyPress?
Technically yes, but not recommended. These tools don’t give consistent temperature or pressure across the surface. For clean, pro results, a real heat press is a must.
❓ When can I wash the garment?
Wait 24 hours before washing or stretching the fabric. This gives the adhesive time to fully cure and gives your print staying power.
